ESG Analysis
To evaluate the responsibility factors of prospective companies, we examine a range of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria. ESG enables us to intelligently balance the opportunities we see with the risks that may not be apparent at first glance.
For the Inhance funds, we choose sustainable investment opportunities that create positive impacts for shareholders, customers, employees and the community. We rate each individual company according to the following seven performance criteria:
- Employee relations
- Diversity
- Environmental commitments
- Community relations
- Corporate governance & citizenship
- Human rights
- Sustainable products
The results of our analysis are best described by a bell curve with the majority of companies clustered around the middle, high performers at one extreme, and poor performers at the opposite extreme. We choose to invest in companies that lean towards the positive end of the spectrum, in terms of financial performance and environmental, social and governance qualities.
We believe that investing in companies that show leadership in their progressive practices is the best way to obtain healthy growth over the long term, while also helping the broader market to evolve. Through our shareholder engagement strategies, we work to motivate leading companies to address key emerging risks.
